Duties:

• Design and deliver data solutions (architecture, pipeline) aligned with business requirements across technical landscapes.
• Translate business needs into scalable data solutions, contributing to the full development lifecycle from design to implementation.
• Build and maintain data processing, retrieval, storage, and distribution systems, ensuring optimal performance.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines, automate tasks with tools like Ansible and Chef, and manage data pipelines.
• Create infrastructure to automate high-volume data delivery and build analytics tools for data science teams.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and meet security standards while aligning with group architecture principles.
• Mentor engineers, conduct peer reviews, and build team capability in using data solutions.
• Identify technical risks, ensure quality assurance, and manage incident response for major incidents.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field will also be considered.
• Honors in Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field is advantageous.

• 5 – 8 years’ experience in data architecture, engineering, and building large-scale data solutions.
• Strong expertise in relational and No-SQL databases, integration, and streaming platforms.
• Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating tasks, and managing complex data sets

• Proficiency in data processing, retrieval, storage, and distribution technologies.
• Strong coding and algorithm development skills in a test-driven and domain-driven environment.
• Ability to work with large datasets and implement infrastructure for data automation.
• Knowledge of global best practices in data technologies and commitment to continuous optimization.
• Expertise in risk management, governance, and alignment to organizational standards and security practices.
• Strong mentoring and leadership abilities in coaching engineers and enhancing team capabilities
