Superintendent Water Engineer Mining

SUMMARY:
JOB PURPOSE:
To lead the water governance of the mine and establish the water vision to ensure that construction and mining operations comply with and adhere to the environmental regulations and good practices. The incumbent will develop and maintain the site water management strategy using an integrated and adaptive water management approach.

POSITION INFO:
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Engineering Water or similar
10 years of relevant experience in water management in the mining sector. Working with international standards is an added advantage. Fluency in English essential, French and Swahili is advantageous.

• In-depth working knowledge of all relevant legislation and planning, policies, international standards, and governing water management
• Water management in a mining environment
• Environmental management systems ISO 14001 or similar
• Understanding administrative processes and systems required for legal compliance.
• In depth understanding of mining and process operations
• Knowledge of work-related hazards and associated risk
