Automotive seating systems manufacturers seek a Supply Chain Manager with min 5 years of experience in Supply Chain with automotive and manufacturing experience. You must have SAP and MS Excel (advanced) and you must have knowledge of planning, warehouse, and transport (land, sea, and air). Do you have any candidates that you would like to put forward?

The main purpose of this role is to support the Plant Manager in achieving sales and operational targets. Improve supply chain performance in line with the business strategic objectives by increasing productivity and reducing costs while focusing on efficiency and upskilling of resources.

Ensure the company secures the supply of goods and services essential to the company''s operations, by strategizing the most cost-effective transactions, agreements, and planning between internal and external stakeholders.

Foster effective coordination between structures reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, as well as other neighbouring departments.

Minimum Requirements:

5 years of Supply Chain experience

2 - 5 years of Logistics experience

2 - 5 years’ experience in people management

2 - 5 years of Automotive / Transportation Industry experience (a must)

Must be available to start immediately

Must live in Cape Town, South Africa

Bcom Degree in Supply Chain Management or similar

Grade 12 (matriculation certificate)

Material Planning

Check customer releases and plan materials accordingly

Receive from Warehouse Responsible for all SOH factoring in material received, consumables, and stock in the warehouse

Verify order quantities vs. materials received and communicate with Turkey if there are variances. Update order quantities accordingly

Ensure tracking of goods in transit

Ensure consumption information is up to date

Liaise with the Project Engineer to ensure BOMs for all lines are up-to-date and relevant

Order raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables from suppliers

Ensure material forecasts are in place factoring lead times, line capacity, and operational scrap factors

Production Planning

Establish and update production schedules factoring in Customer releases and linking to line capacity

Communicate with operations, and changes to schedules per customer call-off

Liaise with the Project engineer to ensure all BOMs are correctly set up and raw materials usage and requirements are correctly allocated on SAP

Perform planning activities for all production-related raw materials, consumables, chemicals, and packaging materials (Returnable and Non-returnable)

Open up all work orders on SAP and maintain

Follow production plan vs. Actual and update your planning schedule if there are variances as well as your ordered quantities

Order raw materials as per the budget schedule

Establish a projected raw material order quantity per week

Perform daily raw material inventory control in conjunction with warehouse responsible

Administration

Follow up with warehouse on orders received per delivery schedule

Obtain Stock on hand counts from the warehouse for updates into the planning schedule

Maintain production scheduling procedures

Check and verify data accuracy on the Planning file in comparison with SAP

Implement control process to streamline the material orders as well as production planning processes

Customer and supplier Relations

Liaise with Customers in relation to all customer releases

Liaise with Customer in relation to any In-process risks, before QC acceptance impacting on customer lines

Track all incoming materials

Follow up with suppliers on any risks

Liaise with shipping companies and freight forwarders on re-routing of containers or any risks pertaining to shipments arriving on time

Stock Control

Assist the Warehouse Controller with Maintaining stock levels of all raw materials, packing materials, and consumables.

Stock takes,

Manage stock data and ensure SAP System is accurate and information as real-time as possible to ensure data is accurate and valid for planning purposes

System Control

Ensure a fully functional FIFO system is in place and adhered to by the warehouse controller

Ensure system data in relation to stock receiving, stock movements and stock dispatches are accurate in place and adhered to by the warehouse team
