Job Description

Our client who is a Food Manufacturer based in Cape Town has an opportunity for an energetic individual to join their team in the capacity of a Production Planner. The Successful Incumbent will be responsible for the following

Creating and adjusting production plans based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability
Forecasting future needs relative to output and resource allocation
Ensuring optimal stock levels of packaging and finished goods to prevent shortages or excess inventory
Collaborating with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to align production with plans, budgets, and schedules
Tracking progress, identifying potential bottlenecks, and troubleshooting issues to minimise delays
Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
Preparing and presenting performance reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement
Adhering to safety regulations, quality standards, and other relevant guidelines.

Qualifications

Matric
Diploma in Operations Management/Supply Chain Management or equivalent

Skills

3-5 Years Production Planning Experience in the Food Manufacturing/FMCG Industry
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
Excellent Ms Excel knowledge
Knowledge of MRP systems would be useful.
Leads by example, sharing company culture and values.
