Technical Manager

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Technical Manager to maintain all Equipment, Plant and Buildings (leased and owned) to ensure they exceed operational efficiency and safety standards in order to comply with the various acts pertaining to law and to deliver world class terminal operations. The design, control and administration of all capital projects. Ensure cost efficient solution that deliver continuous improvement in equipment availability and reliability.
 
Qualifications and Experience:

• Essential: National Diploma: Engineering: Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation/ Industrial
• Advantageous: BSC / B Eng / B. Tech: Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation/ Industrial
• 5 Years experience in Plant, with 2 years first line management experience; Supervisor / Technician

• Support the development and implementation of Asset Care Strategy
• Efficient Asset utilisation/productivity
• Cost management
• Support the terminal initiatives to implement best practice and deliver world class customer service.
• Deliver on Terminal Health Check List
• Manage CAPEX spend
• Develop and implement planned maintenance programme
• Create and maintain safe working environment Head of Equipment Engineering
• Ensure full compliance to Transnet code of practices
• Maintain high level of productivity Implement performance management systems for plant and equipment
• Alignment of department outputs to business needs
• Perform Standby duties as required
