POSITION INFO:

Transport Controller

Report to: Transport Manager
Type: PermanentSectors: Logistics, Warehouse & Freight
Functions: Fleet Controller
Qualifications: Diploma: Road Transport

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for carrying out Transport Planning
Scheduling and Operations Administrative duties such as the processing, planning and scheduling of Linehaul and Managed Fleet
Uploading of POD’s
Update of TMS records
Delivery of a weekly Transport scorecard
Solid understanding of basic transport and operational principles
Ability to Plan & Schedule Transport Requirements
Have excellent attention to detail
Ability to establish and maintain good client/supplier relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
Ability to manage team and enhance teamwork
Excellent interpersonal and effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills
Time management skills
Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
Proactive, organized, and able to multitask and work well under pressure
Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized transport systems, spreadsheet, and word-processing programs at a highly proficient level
Participative and able to work as part of the team
Professional in appearance and flexible

Skills: Diploma in Road Transport, BCom Degree Logistics, NQF7
