UNIT MANAGER MINING (FREE STATE)

The appointee should:

• Be in possession of a Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering.
• Have a Mine Managers Certificate of Competency.
• Have at least 5 years’ experience at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
• Strong managerial skills with the ability to lead and motivate the production team.
• Be computer literate in MS Office.
• Be a self-starter, motivated and be results orientated.
• Exhibit good oral and written communication skills.
• Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.

Advantageous requirements:

• Have undergone a Middle/ Executive Managerial Leadership Programme

Key responsibilities:

• Driving a culture of Safety ownership with a strong emphasis on behaviour based safety
• Managing the Underground Operations Unit Teams, safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet both short and long term production objectives.
• Keeping up to date with latest Mining systems, processes and best practices and make suitable recommendations.
• Analysing and interpreting Mining data and reports and taking corrective actions as required.
• Providing effective problem solving support to the Mining teams.
• Ensuring that all necessary Mining resources, (personnel, equipment and materials) are available as required.
