Junior Underwriter

Location: Sandton
Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (1 day remote per week)

About the Role
We’re seeking a Junior Underwriter with strong attention to detail and solid analytical skills to support the credit process. You’ll assess client risk, review applications, and contribute to lending decisions through accurate and timely analysis.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

Perform risk assessments and provide internal feedback
Evaluate client financials and background information
Ensure application compliance
Conduct telephonic trade references and post-credit checks
Communicate recommendations to the credit team
Monitor ongoing client performance
Follow up for clarification when needed

Requirements

Matric (post-matric qualification advantageous)
3+ years’ experience in a similar role
Understanding of basic payment terms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to build rapport with clients
Clear verbal and written communication
