Waste Derived Fuel Manager

The purpose of the position is to manage the decanting facility, as well as any contracts to supply waste derived fuel. The position is tasked with the sustainable development of waste derived fuel.

The inherent job requirements would be –

• Identification of suitable third party waste management facilities / off-takes towards meeting specific customer expectations and cost effective service offerings;

• Management of relationships and reasonable operational and logistical requirements in respect of third parties operating in niche and specialized markets;

• Reasonable assistance on contractual / off-take agreements in respect of the aforementioned off-takers;

• Management of compliance to the current contract for supply of Waste Derived fuel

• Reasonable ad hoc technical support to the Division.

• Preference for work experience in the waste management, environmental consulting or related fields

• Sound knowledge of the regulatory ambit governing environmental- and waste management, respectively.

• Must have a drivers license and be willing to travel.

• Sound knowledge of-, and experience with the Ms. Office suite.

  Duties would include, inter alia, the following:

• Ad hoc technical support (incl. Research & Development, waste acceptances, legislative review/opinion, waste sampling and Sales Team support)

• Waste data collection, collation, formatting and management

• SANS 10234 waste classification and SDS development

  Skills and Competencies

  • Solid analytical competency

  • Good knowledge of South African legislation pertaining to waste management

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Strong negotiations and communication skills

  • Planning and organising skills

  Requirements

  • BSc/BEng Chemical Engineering and or BSc/BEng Prosess Engineering

  • 2-3 years Management experience

  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in the use of SAP, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word

  • A driver’s licence: The post involves extensive travelling
