MANAGER: INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (REF 1100)

JOB DESCRIPTION:


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration and respond to queries from international students.
  • Manage the facilitation of programmes that enhance integration, social cohesion and create a welcoming environment for international students.
  • Develop and manage the orientation programme, welcome functions and cultural celebrations for international students.
  • Ensure timeous residence allocation for international students and advise them on accommodation related matters.
  • Plan and manage the registration process of international students.
  • Ensure international students’ compliance with immigration laws and university rules.
  • Prepare registration report of international students upon completion of registration processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all categories of international students and post docs.
  • Prepare and write letters for study permit application and renewal purposes for international students.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops for international students and post docs on Immigration regulations.
  • Plan and manage the recruitment of prospective international students.
  • Manage and oversee the development of marketing and recruitment materials.
  • Develop recruitment brochures and other materials for recruitment purposes.
  • Use various (media) platforms to market the university and to recruit prospective international students.
  • Liaise with the Registrar’s office and Faculties to determine admission quotas for International Students, and ensure their timeous selection, admission, and smooth registration process.
  • Attend to international students’ enquiries including those related to registration, study visas and medical aid cover.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master’s degree in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, or Education, or Management and Commerce.
  • A minimum of six (6) years working experience with International Students within the field of Internationalisation.
  • At least six (6) years’ experience in developing and facilitating international students’ services and related programmes in an institution of higher learning.
  • At least six (6) years’ experience in enforcing international students’ compliance with immigration regulations and university rules.
  • Valid driver’s license.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
  • Experience of working at various levels of Internationalisation at an institution of higher learning will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and participating in the recruitment of prospective international students.
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and facilitating workshops on immigration regulations at a university level.
  • Experience in the student higher education ITS system will be an added advantage.

  • Advanced computer literacy packages such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook.
