SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Head Chef to lead the culinary team at their prestigious Game Lodge. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for lodge guests, ensuring exceptional dining experiences. You will manage kitchen operations, create seasonal menus, source local ingredients, and maintain a safe and efficient working environment. The Head Chef will also work closely with the lodge management to enhance guest satisfaction through creative culinary offerings.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and execute seasonal menus with a focus on local, fresh ingredients.
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high culinary standards.
Ensure food preparation, storage, and cleanliness adhere to health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
Coordinate with lodge management for special events, group bookings, and customized guest experiences.
Monitor food costs and control wastage.
Maintain a positive, team-oriented kitchen atmosphere.
Oversee food presentation and ensure it aligns with the lodge's brand and standards.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a luxury lodge or similar hospitality setting.
Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and menu planning.
Ability to manage, motivate, and inspire a kitchen team.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver consistently exceptional results.
A culinary diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictions.
A passion for sustainable and locally sourced ingredients.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Previous experience in remote or safari lodge settings is an advantage.
