This role will be filled in a hybrid capacity, with collaboration taking place in our Columbus OH office 2 days per week.

Were looking for a Cloud Developer to support AWD, a third-party work distribution app that moves tasks, files, and data across Nationwide systems. AWD integrates through APIs, batch jobs, cloud services, and automation.

This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their cloud development skills while gaining exposure to diverse business operations. Youll help build and maintain cloud-based solutions that connect AWD with other applications, improving efficiency and enabling seamless workflow automation.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, youll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.

Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.

Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.

Manages project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle moderately sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring managers leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
