Responsibilities of a DevOps Engineer

Build software to integrate with internal back-end systems.
Work collaboratively by identifying and implementing DevOps/SysOps engineering best practices
Perform root cause analysis for production errors.
Create IT systems infrastructure architecture, standards and roadmaps.
Write and also maintain custom scripts to increase efficiency.
Collaborate with other engineers and technology functions to deliver secure and reliable solutions
Develop scripts to automate visualisation
Delegate your team’s workload based on available capacity and manage the expectations of stakeholders
Ensure platform uptimes are adhered to by using monitoring tools to automatically surface alerts
Create tools to reduce errors and improve customer experience.
Investigate and resolve technical issues

DevOps Engineer Skills & Qualifications

A BSc or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
Experience with software engineering, civil engineering and customer experience
Skills as a DevOps Engineer or related software engineering role
Proficient with git and git workflows
Skills in developing engineering applications for large companies
Working knowledge of databases and SQL
Good understanding of Ruby or Python
Good interpersonal skills
Problem-solving attitude
Work collaboratively in a team
