Operations Managers are often tasked with improving performance, formulating strategy, buying material and resources and securing compliance. Some duties may also include mentoring team members, researching methods to increase customer service quality, and implementing best practices across all departments.

Responsibilities of a Operations Manager

• Monitor and analyse the company or organisation’s current system of production or provision to check the effectiveness, and work out a strategy for improvement
• analysing statistics, managing day-to-day activities, and reading and writing reports
• coordinating with team members and interacting with managers of different areas of the organisation
• presenting findings to stakeholders and higher management
• tracking and measuring staff performance, and training and supervising new employees
• managing quality assurance programmes
• Research new technologies to help with efficiency
• setting and reviewing budgets and managing costs
• Supervise inventory, distribution of goods and facility layout.

Operations Manager Qualifications

• Track record as an Operations Manager or related role
• Knowledge of operations management and organizational
• Experience forecasting and budgeting
• Experience with business and financial principles
• Excellent communication skills
