SUMMARY:
Our client, a longstanding global manufacturer, seeks an AA HOD: HR & IR. Reporting to the Group Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice, guidance and leadership across the company on all areas of Human Resources such as:

POSITION INFO:

  1. Human Resources such as staffing and recruiting, organisational development, performance management, training, compensation & benefits and employee relation, engagement. 
  2. Design and implement a strategy and provide professional expertise and direct assistance to the Leadership team whilst providing strong leadership and management to the HR team.
  3. Ensure the HR department operates efficiently and aligns with business objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, pref. Honours/Masters in HR Management
  • Minimum 10 years'' experience, most of which pref in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous HR experience at Senior Management level, current or most recent roles must be at strategic management level.
  • Experience in leading, motivating and managing a team of staff to provide an effective strategic and operational HR function.
  • Up to date knowledge of Employment Law and good employment practice.
  • Advising Managers on change programmes (including redundancy).
  • In-depth understanding of and ability to continually develop skills in best practice in all aspects of HR.
  • Experience in managing and monitoring a budget; experience in managing a professional HR team.
  • In-depth experience in managing organizational restructures.
  • Experience in developing a Culture of Learning & Change, able to demonstrate a personal and corporate commitment to continuous learning, growth and change.
  • Ability to encourage and support creative thinking; experience in delivering results through people; able to display a strong results focus and consistently delivers positive outcomes.
  • Experience in working in partnership and collaboration; able to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and partners.
  • Managing diversity; taking a pivotal role in developing frameworks and initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate in a fluent and adaptive manner; experience in successfully influencing opinion and generating support.
  • Ability to be creative and analytical in order to develop flexible creative
  • Solutions to complex HR issues.
  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Office.

  • Must work well under pressure / excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Able to build positive relationships with Managers, colleagues and Trade Union Representatives.
  • Able to convey ideas and advice clearly, concisely, with conviction and in a persuasive manner often in the face of opposition or hostility when advice is challenged.
  • Able to think strategically and produce action plans to address workforce needs.
  • Able to understand the HR issues arising from operational management issues and advise Managers appropriately and persuasively on the action they should take, evaluating and advising on the impact and risks of such action.
  • High standard of verbal and written communication skills/able to generate own correspondence and reports.
  • Able to explain and persuade others through written and oral argument, and gain acceptance.
