AD Specialist

PURPOSE:

Manage Microsoft Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions, notably Active Directory and supporting technologies. Major activities include domain administration and maintenance, 3rd level support and project work. AD Specialists collaborate with the Senior Technology Specialists to implement secure solutions that meets the business needs of the enterprise We are looking for a customer-focused, motivated individual, with a strong technical background that has excellent communication skills, an aptitude for working with and learning modern technologies, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting Level 2 IT Admins as well as corporate and remote users located globally

FORMAL EDUCATION:

• Grade 12 or equivalent is a requirement.

• Tertiary education is an advantage

EXPERIENCE:

• 7 years of general IT experience, at least 3 of which in a specialist role managing AD Service administration

• Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 experience would be an advantage

TECHNICAL / LEGAL CERTIFICATION

• Relevant vendor certifications, including current MCSE or MCSA 2016 to current

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and manage Microsoft Active Directory and supporting technologies

• Implement new solutions to meet customer requirements, in consultation with the architects

• Coordinate lab tests for upgrades and projects

• Document environments, implementations, and write work instructions

• Perform trend analysis and make recommendations

• Ongoing improvements and maintenance, including version management

• Adhere to Incident, Problem and Change Management principles.

Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, AGPMC, RODC, GPO, PKI, DFS, replication, delegation, security, troubleshooting

• Advanced knowledge and experience with Active Directory Federation Services

• Seek opportunities to automate tasks, and has the knowledge of PowerShell scripting to implement

• Advanced knowledge and experience with Azure AD, ADFS, ADLDS, ADCA and AAD Connect

• Sound knowledge and understanding of the ITIL framework
