Job Description
Our client, an exclusive 8 Roomed Upmarket Guest House located in Johannesburg (Observatory) requires a Guest House Manager/Catering Manager to run the property in its entirety. The hotel currently serves Breakfast to all in-house guests as a standard. Lunch and Supper are only currently served on request in the Restaurant. It currently operates as a Business Hotel but they would like to branch into Conferencing as well as Team buildings, Weddings, Baby Showers, Kitchen Teas and Birthday Parties as they have large beautiful Garden facilities which lends very much to doing these functions, so over time will grow to be both a leisure and business property. The Manager must come from a Chef/Catering background and be able to physically prepare the meals for the Guests – Over time as property gets busier assistance will be employed, but given that it is a small operation currently the manager will be very much hands on in all departments, doing the catering and coordinating the Housekeeping and cleaning staff, costs and controls. Will report directly to the owner.
Qualifications
Relevant Qualification is an advantage but not essential if skilled and capable.
Skills
Catering/Cheffing/Preparation of Meals - Strong Ability. Able to coordinate and manage a team. Strong with Admin and financials as well as stock control. Candidate should reside in surrounding regions or be willing to live on site and have own reliable vehicle. Must be mature. Seeking an individual who is looking for job security long term and to grow with the company long term.
Salary / Package
R15000-R22000 negotiable, dependent on skills, experience and capability
