Upmarket Student Accommodation with onsite Canteen. Student capacity is currently 408 students. Catering for 10 staff (Staff complement will grow over time). Located in Polokwane.
Job Description
Our client seeks an experienced Catering Manager/F&B Operations Manager to start up, successfully manage, implement systems and procedures, build own team, menus and budgets and manage food costs and stock for this state-of-the-art upmarket student hotel facility. The Kitchen and Canteen have been furnished with new state-of-the-art kitchen equipment.
Manage all food and beverages on a daily basis
- Plans, forecasts and manages all the orders for goods
- Draws and implements budget guidelines
- Designs student-appropriate menus and innovates enhancements of the menus
- Ensures that there is sufficient stock on hand and replenishes the ingredients
- Adhere to the health and safety regulations
- Proactively perceive food preferences of the students and promptly align with relevant menus
- Drive the cafeteria participation rate
- Recruit, select and develop cafeteria staff
- Create new business ideas from external markets (local surrounding businesses)
- Increase sales figures and report to Exco monthly
- Create an exceptional customer experience befitting the brand
- Recommend and implement a Restaurant Management Software
Qualifications
Relevant F&B or Hospitality Qualifications required.
Skills
5 Years experience in a similar position within a similar styled facility. Strong at building a team, training and motivating and managing staff, stock controls, menu planning, system management, food and beverage costs and sales. Proven track record and traceable reference required.
