Job Description
The Group Finance Manager in the company works closely with the GCFO and supports them in discharging the operational oversight of finance activities in the Group. Along with rest of the finance team this role is part of creating an efficient and effective back office support to the Group to enable the Group to create value and wealth.
The Group Finance Manager will have the following areas of responsibilities:
- Design financial and operational policies for the Group.
- Automation of financial activities in the Group to minimize manual intervention and inefficiencies.
- Review Group quarterly Management Accounts and prepare report to the Group Exco and the Board.
- Review of Consolidated Annual Financial Statements.
- Review the audit readiness of the Group and coordinate all audit activities in the Group.
- Review Group weekly 3 months-rolling cashflow forecasts.
- Coordinate the annual business planning activities of the Group and prepare financial models for the Group.
- Ensure that the Group’s cash is monitored and optimized.
- Preparing business insight to share with external stakeholders.
- Provide advisory support to the management team.
- Monitor the risk management activities of the Group.
- All financial and operational policies and procedures of the Group.
- Access to automated systems to enable oversight.
- Exco and Board Packs according to the corporate calendar.
- Reporting pack to external stakeholders before distribution.
- Updates during the auditing cycle.
- Weekly cash position of the Group and each Subsidiaries, Associates and Joint Ventures within the Group.
- Group business planning guidelines and timetable.
- Annual budget for the Group and each Subsidiaries, Associates and Joint Ventures within the Group.
- The Group’s risk register.
Based on your areas of responsibilities the role will interact with the following external stakeholders based on the delegation of authority:
- Group’s management team.
- Banker
- Funders
- Shareholders
Qualifications
CA(SA).
Skills
2-5 years experience post articles in an FM role within an operations environment. Doesn’t have to be hospitality because that part of FM is done by Broll’s back office, however is preferable. Experience in Caseware, preparation of AFS, Xero (would be beneficial), consolidation, tax etc
