Requirements
- Grade 12 education.
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar position or environment.
- Passionate about food, upmarket functions, and food preparation.
- Computer literate for recipe/menu compilation.
- Capable of preparing recipes, menus, and function menus.
- Skilled in function preparation, menu costings, and cycle menus.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organization skills.
- Strong leadership abilities to lead and delegate tasks to a team.
- Attention to detail, especially in plating.
- Thrives in high-pressure environments.
- Positive attitude and a team player.
- Neat and presentable at all times.
- Effective time management for yourself and your team.
- Willingness to work long hours, shift work, and weekends.
- Proficiency in stock ordering, monitoring, counts, and spot checks.
- Monitoring food preparation and cooking in the kitchen.
- Dealing with food complaints effectively.
- Understanding special dishes and dietary requirements.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety in the kitchen.
- Friendly and respectful attitude towards clients, including students/scholars.
- Own vehicle is preferable.
