SUMMARY:

The Southern African subsidiary of a global organisation is looking for an Accountant & Payroll Officer for our operations in Johannesburg South Africa.

The job requires a qualified, experienced individual who is able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will need to accept a challenge and take a hands-on approach acting as the right hand to the CFO in the finance department

Academic qualifications

Bcom degree / honours

Key Software skills:

MS Office suite - High
SAP experience – High
Sage experience - Beneficial
Payroll software experience (e.g. Greatsoft) – High

Primary job responsibilities

Payroll management and processing start to finish
VAT processing start to finish
Diversified list of other accounting tasks

Minimum Working experience:

Years of experience in payroll processing (5 years year or more)
Years experience in VAT processing (5 years or more)
Monthly EMP201 submission
All Accounting principles and application in practice (3 year or more)
Overall at least 8+ years directly in accounting with broad exposure in capturing, processing , reviewing and reporting.

Other:

Thorough understanding of VAT legislation, VAT accounting and VAT submission, and responding to SARS queries
Thorough understanding of accounting principles and rules accounting processes and bookkeeping logic,
Thorough understanding of Payroll management, Payroll processing, Payroll relevant taxes, calculations and submissions and responding to SARS queries.
