Are you a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional ready to take the next step in your career? A dynamic agricultural department is seeking a skilled Accountant to join their team in East London.

Key Skills and Experience:

• BCom Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a full-function accounting role
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (verbal and written)
• Solid understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance regulations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Sage/Accpac or similar ERP/accounting systems (advantageous but not essential)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Perform VAT and loan account reconciliations
• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register
• Process journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Reconcile internal parts between Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Load new vendors and updating of information on the system
• Handle payment requisitions and raise purchase orders on a daily and monthly basis
• Coordinate and manage the year-end audit process
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
• Load and manage payments via banking systems, including foreign currency transactions
• Prepare and maintain monthly and annual cash flow forecasts
• Oversee and manage debtors and creditors
• Compile and present monthly management accounts
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets
