SUMMARY:
Accountant (on-site) needed in City Bowl (Public sector experience).

POSITION INFO:
This role offers valuable, hands-on exposure to public sector finance projects and the opportunity to build a credible, long-term career within municipal and government environments.

A well-established public sector consulting firm is seeking an Accountant to support municipal and government-focused finance projects. This role is ideal for a technically solid professional who enjoys hands-on delivery, compliance-driven work, and real-world implementation within the public sector.

You will be placed on public sector engagements, supporting financial management, reporting, and compliance across municipalities and government entities. Appointments may be contract or permanent, depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform financial reporting and reconciliations within a public sector environment
Apply GRAP standards and PFMA requirements in daily operations
Support municipal finance functions and compliance deliverables
Assist with audits, reporting packs, and statutory submissions
Work closely with project teams and on-site stakeholders

Experience & Qualifications:

Completed Accounting degree
Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles
Registered or eligible to register with a recognised professional accounting body
3–5 years’ accounting experience
Exposure to GRAP, PFMA, and municipal or government finance
Willingness to travel as required by project assignments
