SUMMARY:
A well-established, niche accounting environment, servicing an international client base, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant/Senior Bookkeeper to join their team in Johannesburg North. This role is best suited to a professional who thrives in a structured, deadline-driven environment and is confident working independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

POSITION INFO:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Full management of accounts payable and receivable, inventory, and the cashbook
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Maintain the fixed asset register
Prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements
Handle income tax, VAT, and PAYE submissions, payments, and SARS queries
Perform bookkeeping up to trial balance (including VAT reconciliations and submissions)
Compile IFRS for SMEs financial statements
Supervise and support junior staff

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

BCom Degree with completed articles
3–5 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience in the construction and/or logistics industry is advantageous
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Proficiency in MS Office, Sage Business Cloud Accounting, Sage Business Cloud Payroll, Draftworx, and SARS eFiling
