Accountant

POSITION INFO:
A well-established organisation within the construction sector, based in Pretoria, is currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a project-driven environment where financial accuracy, cost control, and operational support play a critical role in delivering successful outcomes.

Duties:

• Full function general ledger management across multiple accounts and projects
• Preparation, analysis, and completion of monthly management accounts
• Month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and journals
• General ledger reconciliations and detailed balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing, reviewing, and posting of journal entries with accuracy and control
• Preparation of financial reports for internal stakeholders and management
• Assistance with external audit preparation and supporting documentation
• Reconciliation and monitoring of key balance sheet accounts (including creditors, debtors, and project-related accounts)
• Support with construction/project costing and financial tracking
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies
• Identifying and resolving variances and discrepancies in financial data

• BCom Accounting (required)
• Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles (required)
• 1–3 years' post-articles experience advantageous
• Strong experience with GL reconciliations and month-end processes
• Exposure to construction, property, or project-based environments beneficial
• Strong Excel skills (advanced level advantageous)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines
