POSITION INFO:

Our client operating within the Retail and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is searching for a dynamic and experienced individual to fill their current Accountant vacancy within their Johannesburg East based finance team. Our client is looking for a suitably qualified Accountant with at least 10 years’ experience within the same and/or similar industries. If you are the ideal candidate, please apply!

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and/or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree and/or National Diploma (NDip) specialising in Accounting
Minimum 10 years’ working experience involving similar Accountant roles and responsibilities within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Retail, and Manufacturing industries is highly advantageous
Working experience using the Sage Evolution accounting software package is required

Job description & Skills:

Ensuring that all cashbook functions and responsibilities are fulfilled, including banking reconciliations, following up and/or clearing of reconciling items, and other ad hoc payments
Ensuring that journal entries are accurately and timely processed
Managing and maintaining ledgers to ensure that payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors
Ensuring that financial records and financial reports are accurately compiled and efficiently managed while maintaining the data integrity
Establishing and implementing new systems and/or controls while maintaining effective communication with the relevant retail departments and management
