Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Silvertondale, Pretoria, has an ideal position for an Accountant with minimum 5 years experience with a Bcom Accounting and Business Management qualification OR 8 years accounting and financial management experience. Experience using Quickbooks (QB), Quickbooks bank importer, Excel and K8 (Point of Sale) is essential. Steel Manufacturing and Construction/ Steel Retail/ Property Rental experience will be preferable.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities 

• Creditors Control (30-day accounts, COD and Ad-Hoc purchases) – source invoices, capture, GRV and vat checks, filling and reconciliations.
• Debtors Control – credit allocation and control, clients invoices, allocation and reconciliation of payments/receipts across projects/branches, oversee collection processes;
• Cash Book – importing, allocating and reconciling all bank accounts, debit card transactions, petty cash, and fleet accounts.
• Petty Cash across projects and branches.
• Payroll and staff related transactions for example claims and advances.
• Tax compliance – VAT, PAYE/UIF/SDL, income tax, dividend tax, etc.
• Project accounting and reporting.
• Assisting Project Managers and Branch Managers with financial functions across systems.
• Payments and cash flow management.
• Assist purchasing function (COD payments, 30-day Creditor Account Limits, Cash Flow Projections)
• Management reporting to Shareholders.
• Archiving.
• Compliance and Monthly financial checks and balances in preparation for Financial Statements per company as well as for the group.
