Accountant

Minimum requirements:

* Matric
* Computer literate
* Relevant accounting experience
* Requires and individual who can work long hours and overtime from time to time.
* Candidate must be able to work under pressure
* Tertiary qualification will be an advantage, but is not a requirement

Duties and responsibilities will include:

The position requires a lot of processing and reconciliation work and focus mainly on the cash and and provision departments of the company

Petty cash: Prepare petty cash floats for branches and process transactions on Pastel on weekly basis
Cash up: review cash ups from branches for any discrepancies and process on Pastel on weekly basis
Payments and receipts: process daily payments and receipts on Pastel
Bank reconciliations: prepare bank reconciliation on weekly basis
Investments: process interest on investments on monthly basis
Control accounts: reconcile control accounts on monthly basis -
cash control accounts, garneesh control accounts, provident fund and other
Provision account: process provisions on Pastel
Samba statements: process and reconcile SAMBA statements on Pastel
Instalment sales agreements: process initial instalment; agreements and monthly payments and interest thereafter
Any other processing as required
