A reputable organisation operating within the rail infrastructure and engineering sector is seeking an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their finance team based in Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Perform monthly bank, supplier, and general ledger reconciliations. Prepare and process journals, accruals, and prepayments. Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting. Prepare VAT reconciliations and statutory submissions. Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules. Assist with budgeting, cash flow management, and reporting requirements. Liaise with auditors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial legislation. Job Experience and Skills Required Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role. Proven experience processing the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance. Experience with VAT reconciliations and statutory compliance. Experience working on Syspro ERP or a similar accounting system. Experience within the engineering, manufacturing, construction, or industrial sector will be advantageous. Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Package & Benefits: Salary: R360,000 per annum.
