SUMMARY:
Our client, a large manufacturing company is looking for an energetic and detail oriented Accountant to join their team based in Bloemfontein.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:
- Either a qualified CA(SA) or Management Accountant with a completed CIMA qualification.
- 3-5 years post completed articles experience.
- Essential: Advanced Computer Literacy & MS Excel knowledge including pivot tables and writing basic macros.
- Essential: Full understanding of IFRIS standards and IFRIS for SME.
- Essential: Experience in all tax submissions to SARS.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible to reconcile medium/large bank accounts (high volume).
- Perform month end reconciliations.
- Income tax return and assessment handling.
- Review monthly nominal Accounts for allocations and passing journals if necessary
- Responsible for monthly reconciliation of VAT control account and submitting VAT returns
- Performing analysis and verification on monthly salary and wages accounts and submitting PAYE returns.
- Initiate monthly stock takes and performing in depth analysis into variations.
- Design and implement checks and controls in all financial transactions relating to AP, AR and inventory.
- Timely deposit of tax and returns.
- Responsible to compile and produce accurate monthly Management Accounts.
- Reconcile and review monthly balance sheets.
- Preparing Financial Statements.
- Preparing Budgets, cash flows and forecasts.
- Act as an Auditor.
- Ensure internal audits are conducted smoothly.
- Ensure ad-hoc audits from CMACS/ and Government agencies are conducted smoothly.
- Providing Financial Advice and Tax Advise to Directors on Tax Laws.
- Should be able to consistently monitor progress of rest of accounting department to make sure that they do not fall behind, and willing to assist and implement systems for team members not to fall behind in future.
- Accuracy verification of all transactions.
- Ensure accurate / timely closure of monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual accounts.
