Accountant Costing and Projects

SUMMARY:
Our Client in the East Rand is looking for a suitable person for a position vacant of Accountant: Costing & Projects. 1) To manage the manufacturing costing department in the East Rand 2) To assist with management and reporting of various projects.

POSITION INFO:

The suitable person will have a B Comm / B Tech / CIMA qualification with 5 - 10 years experience in a Manufacturing Environment as a Cost Accountant. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurate manufacturing costing
• Manage employees directly reporting and provide leadership and guidance to the cost accountant
• Ensure correct reporting of stock levels
• Liaise with Internal and External Auditors
• Monthly reporting on all key financial information
• Oversee the site yearly budget an forecating processes
• Oversee the site compliance in respect on Month-end and Year-end procedures
• Represent finance on the procurement committee on high values orders
• Provide assistance on the ERP system functionality and controls on site
• Key finance contact on site for all functional queries
• Involvement in major contracts from initial review meetings up to final execution of sales
• Ensure accurate financial recording and execution of customer order related cost in line with delegation of Authority for project cost, selling costs
• Compilation of workings for budget, forecasts and prognoses for project costing an contract costs an the tracking of actual performanance against this. This include gathering inputs for other department such as Plant Engineerirng, Logistics and Project Management as well as measurement of quoted, contracted and actual results. 
• Month end financial results and preparation of disclosure information on projects and other contract costs
• Identification of risks whih could have a financial implication for the Company

Desired Experience & Qualification

• B Comm / B Tech / CIMA
• 5-10 Years Financial experience in a manufacturing environment, Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to apply skills across a broad spectrum of financial disciplines 
• Knowledge of IFRS Accounting guidance
• Fully computer literate and knowledge of ERP system
