Accountant (Depot)

Overview:

To ensure that accurate and timeous financial information is processed into the Financial systems. Also responsible for stock control management from raw material to finished products and returns for the Queenstown and Port Elizabeth Depots and to relieve the Accountant at Fort Jackson. The successful candidate will be based in Port Elizabeth at the Depot. 

Minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• BCom Accounting Degree (completed)
• 3+ years’ experience in a hands-on accounting role
• 2+ years experience supervising staff directly
• 1+ years stock control experience
• Valid Drivers license and own transport

Responsibilities:

• Stock control
• Financial procedures - debtors & creditors
• Balance sheet reconciliation’s
• Deviation reporting and recommendations
• Capital expenditure process
• Controlled expenses
• Communication – internal team and department synergy
• Responsible for Value chain
• Processed value chain reconciliation
• Month end processing
• Weekly profit statements
• Budget preparations and management
• Assistance in preparation of internal and external audits
  
• Supervise team / staff in Depots

Position specific information:

• 6-day position.
• Willing to travel between Depots / Fort Jackson office when needed
• Work travel required, using own vehicle
• Pressurized environment
• Overtime expected from time to time
