JOB SUMMARY:
Accountant - Finance projects and analytics - Financial Services experience (Long-term insurance)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client, a dynamic Financial Services Provider specialising in group risk focussing on group cover in SA seeks to employ an Accountant - Finance Projects and Analytics (1 year contract possible perm). Applicant to start as soon as possible

KEY OUTPUTS;

Project

New policy administration system, data, warehouse, and integration - General Ledger, Banks
User acceptance testing, clarification of requirements, designing and documenting processes and controls, change management, implementation
Monitoring and reporting
Integral role player in the business project team

IFRS 17

Finance team representative of the Team, working with the Group IFRS project team
User acceptance testing, clarification of requirements, designing and documenting processes and controls, change management, implementation
Monitoring and reporting
Understanding of the IFRS 17 financial results and comparison to the IFRS4 financial results
General ledger data governance project and total operating model, working with the Group''''s team

Data Analytics

Extracting and analysing relevant data to support business decision making

User Powerw BI, Excel Macro''''s or other tools to enhance reporting and analysis to inform future business decision making

Other Finance Projects

Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Workflow
Efficiencies and cost saving opportunities across the business identification, Analysis and implementation

Other

Assist with annual budgeting process
Assist with forecasts
Assist as and when required with Finance operational requirements
Competitor and Environmental Analysis

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) plus Articles, CIMA or CA(SA) preferable
At least 5 years post article insurance experience
At least 2 years project experience
Finance management experience will be advantageous
