Our client is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to their dynamic team. 

This is a work from home position.

"We are a young team and our working model is to work from home (even prior to COVID).  This requires a highly motivated person with drive to meet deadlines.  Happy to work on their own, even though a supportive team is only a skype call away.  The position is available immediately and a full time position."

The qualification requirements include, 

  • CA - SAICA registered
  • SAIPA registered
  • B.Comm with articles or without.

 

1. Primary Responsibilities
Complete work as required by various projects, including but not exclusively:
a. Invoice customers for goods sold and/or services rendered and manage accounts receivable.
b. Process all vendor invoices and accounts payables.
c. Maintain the general ledger.
d. Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis.
e. Reconcile inventory on a monthly basis.
f. Record monthly journals required to finalize monthly trial balance.
g. Prepare sales and gross receipts tax reports.
h. Prepare monthly and/or quarterly management accounts with relevant analysis and budget comparisons.
i. Provide real-time budget-to-actual comparisons for periodic accounts payable payment requests.
j. Prepare periodic sales reports with relevant analysis.
k. Review, analyze, and correct (if necessary) financial statements from previous periods.
l. Create periodic cash flow projections.
m. Perform inventory costings.
n. Prepare annual budgets.
o. Create a financial model for the existing business and/or potential new lines of business.
p. Ensuring deadlines are met by driving their work items timeously, focusing on clear communication prior to problems arising.
q. Collaborates with colleagues and works effectively as a team.
r. Able to self manage tasks and deadlines.
s. Able to manager upwards to achieve project goals.


2. Development & Training
a. Ensure ongoing personal development through external training, internal training, micro training and self-learning.
b. If applicable ensure SAICA reflective plan is prepared and submitted or SAIPA document.
c. Ensure QBO certification is achieved.


3. Reporting
a. Weekly T-sheet review and compliance checks
b. Weekly check in reports.


4. Other
a. Assist senior or other junior staff on projects if required.
b. Ad hoc requests as needed by foreign based staff and managers.
c. Any other reasonable instruction by any member of management that may fall out of the boundaries of the job title and scope but leads to the betterment of the company within ethical boundaries.
