POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description:
A leading organisation in the technology and consumer electronics sector is looking for an experienced Accounts Supervisor to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-driven finance professional with strong accounts payable and team leadership experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing supplier payments, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance requirements, and guiding a team to ensure all finance deliverables are met.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Creditors Management

Ensure all supplier payments (local and foreign) are processed in accordance with agreed payment terms
Maintain and review age analysis for suppliers on a weekly basis
Manage and maintain accurate GRN reports
Ensure all supplier queries and internal requests are addressed within required timeframes
Assist with audit documentation and ensure finance records are well maintained
Develop and maintain GL coding guidelines and ensure accurate coding to GL accounts and cost centres

VAT & Compliance

Ensure supplier invoices comply with Statutory VAT Act requirements
Follow up on incorrect invoices and ensure corrected documentation is received timeously
Maintain and update vendor master data and supplier records
Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and regulatory requirements

Bank & Cash Management

Ensure supplier payments are processed accurately during payment runs
Verify supplier banking details on payment platforms
Ensure payments are processed from the correct bank accounts

Financial Administration

Review and verify entries, invoices, and statements for accuracy
Maintain strong financial controls and documentation standards

Team Leadership & Support

Supervise and support accounts payable team members
Provide coaching, training, and on-the-job guidance to team members
Assist the Accounts Payable Manager in ensuring team deliverables and deadlines are met
Drive process improvements and support system implementation initiatives

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting (BCom preferred)
5+ years’ experience in accounts payable / finance environment
2–3 years leadership or supervisory experience
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, supplier management, and financial controls
