Accounts Assistant and Stock Controller Salary: R20,000 to R23,000 per month, depending on experience Start Date: As soon as possible Location: Approximately 20 km outside town Employment Type: Full-time Role Overview An established trading and distribution business is seeking a highly organised and presentable Accounts Assistant and Stock Controller. This position combines accounts administration with hands-on stock control and warehouse coordination. The successful candidate must have experience using Pastel, a sound understanding of stock processes and practical knowledge of how a warehouse operates. Candidates must have their own reliable vehicle and a valid driver's licence. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day accounts and administrative support. Capture and process financial transactions accurately on Pastel. Assist with invoicing, credit notes, supplier documentation and account reconciliations. Maintain accurate stock records on the relevant systems. Monitor stock movements, transfers, receipts and dispatches. Compare physical stock against system records and investigate discrepancies. Assist with regular stock counts and stock reconciliations. Coordinate with warehouse personnel regarding incoming and outgoing stock. Ensure goods received are checked against purchase orders and delivery notes. Assist with stock adjustments and maintain the required supporting documentation. Monitor stock levels and report shortages, excess stock or unusual movements. Maintain orderly filing and accurate financial, stock and supplier records. Assist with customer and supplier account queries. Minimum Requirements Previous experience in an accounts assistant, stock controller, or similar combined role. Practical working experience with Pastel is essential . Strong stock-control and stock-reconciliation experience. A good understanding of warehouse processes, including receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and stock counts. Fluency in both Afrikaans and English is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong numerical ability and attention to detail. Good administrative, organisational, and record-keeping skills. Ability to identify and investigate stock discrepancies. Professional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. A highly presentable and professional appearance. A valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle are essential.
