Accounts Assistant Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Business and Trust bank accounts transactional processing. Oversight of Trust Account, client investments, including reconciliations. Available cash review across businesses. Monthly accounts overview of one business and reporting. Accounting queries from staff and clients, while supporting the accounts team.

Requirements:

• Matric with relevant financial qualification
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a finance function. Some experience in performing creditors, debtors and banking duties.
• Ability to work independently and balance multiple tasks simultaneously
• Organisational skills with the ability to prioritize time and work effectively
• Attention to detail, displays a high level of integrity and is deadline driven
• Ability to work in a team environment is essential

Responsibilities:

• Capturing / Importing and posting bank transactions to the accounting system
• Review of Creditors, Balance Sheet and Income Statement
• Bank account reconciliations
• Respond to queries relating to bank processing and debtor account enquiries where relevant to banking
• Deal with relevant queries from your team and operational staff
• Backup to staff in team
• Posting of some general journals, e.g. payroll journal
• Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• VAT review and populating template for use with efiling
• Support the finance team with the preparation of internal finance reports
• Run with allocated tasks in the preparation of the annual audits and during the audits
• Company Secretarial duties relevant to the businesses. Eg. new bank accounts, replacement cards, bank verifications, CIPC related reporting
• Fixed Assets
