JOB SUMMARY:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role reports to the Finance Team Leader.

Your responsibilities will include:

Match supplier invoices with goods received notes received
Capture supplier invoices to Sage
Capture and calculate various discount types on accounts
Receive month end statements from suppliers on timeous basis
Perform monthly account reconciliations and submit for payment
Ensure suppliers are paid at correct price and for correct quantities received
Manage supplier age analysis and payment terms
Send remittance advice to suppliers
Resolve payment/account queries with suppliers
Communicate intake variances with warehouse/retail staff members
Follow up with suppliers on credit notes for returns and other discounts
Maintaining a clean set of Accounts Payable reconciliations (i.e no unresolved items)
Ensure proper filing system is kept
Assist with ad-hoc task as required by accounting team

Attributes required:

Execute the workflow according to set priorities and deadlines
Organizing and prioritizing
Attention to detail and accuracy
Must have good communication skills and be fluent in English
Ability to work independently but also be a team player
Must be computer literate in MS Excel packages and Evolution/Sage
Must be able to work overtime when required

Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
Certificate/Diploma in Accounting
2-3 years experience in Accounts Payable
Proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Excel
General knowledge of Accounting
