Review of actuarial models, ad-hoc modelling projects and technical support of the Prophet modelling software
 Perform assignments of actuarial-related duties such as preparing, performing and analysing actuarial research and audits. Other duties include collecting data from various databases and performing standard mathematical calculations.

  • Maintenance and development of Prophet models (and related tools) used in the valuation process, solvency calculation and balance sheet projections
  • Review and enhance specifications for model changes
  • Unit and regression testing of model changes
  • Documentation of model changes and tests
  • Support with the implementation of models
  • Peer review of specifications, model changes and documentation
  • Assistance with ad-hoc tasks and investigations
  • Over time, you will gain exposure to many Life Prophet (and other) models. You will assist with reviewing changes implemented by others into the official models, and will check for adherence to agreed coding standards and consistency across different models.
  • As part of the Modelling Support team, you will handle technical queries from Prophet users and assist in other administrative tasks such as management of software licences and coordinating upgrading of software/hardware used by the Prophet systems
  • You will work closely with the modelling specialists in the Reporting teams and will assist with development and coordination on larger multi-model projects.
     
  • Senior Actuarial student/Recently Qualified Actuary

  • Strong modelling skills, ideally using Prophet software
  • Ability to understand complex and technical concepts
  • Strong analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to peer review specifications, model changes and documentation
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn

Familiarity with handling/analyzing data in databases or related programming languages would be useful m18.1s
