Role Overview:
As a Life Valuations Actuary, you will be an essential part of the actuarial team, responsible for assessing and analyzing life insurance policies' financial implications. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and insightful valuations, risk assessments, and financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing actuarial insights and contributing to key strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting in-depth analysis of life insurance products and portfolios, including profit testing, embedded value calculations, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to develop and enhance actuarial models and methodologies.
- Monitoring and assessing the financial performance and risk profiles of life insurance products.
- Contributing to the development of actuarial assumptions and parameters.
- Participating in the production of financial reports and presentations to senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Qualified or near-qualified Actuary, with relevant professional certifications (e.g., FIA, FFA, ASA, or equivalent).
- 5+ years of experience in life insurance valuations, embedded value calculations, or related actuarial functions.
- Proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes) and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and effectively manage multiple priorities.
