SUMMARY:
Actuarial Reporting Specialist

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Actuarial Reporting Specialist to support financial reporting and forecasting teams within a life insurance environment. The role focuses on performing financial impact assessments, analysing performance, and ensuring clear, insightful communication to internal and external stakeholders.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the successful implementation of IFRS17 for both reporting and performance management.
- Support financial forecasting and performance analysis.
- Provide actuarial technical input to various stakeholders on IFRS17 and related financial metrics.
- Collaborate with actuarial, Balance Sheet Management (BSM), and IFRS reporting teams on technical assessments.
- Lead scenario testing to assess implications of policy decisions in a post-IFRS17 landscape.
- Contribute to audit readiness and review of IFRS17 methodology and policy.
- Work closely with reporting, planning, and investor teams to refine performance measures and disclosures.
- Assist with analyst interactions and investor relations through insights on IFRS17 impacts.
- Monitor and analyse competitor disclosures for performance benchmarking and insight improvement.

Minimum Requirements
- Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA) – at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ financial reporting experience in a life insurance company (IFRS, EV, SAM).
- Exposure to IFRS17-related work highly beneficial.
- Experience in audit engagements or consulting work preferred.
- Proven ability to work in project-based environments.
