SUMMARY:
The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead will be tasked with establishing the Analytics CoE
POSITION INFO:
In this role, the Advanced Analytics Capability Lead ensures that the business, through its BI division, understands its own health, finds growth levers, and identifies opportunities for optimisation. This role will set up and lead the new Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE), which will initially be focused on advanced analytics effort for the Marketing team to drive customer loyalty and insights.
Details of the role: Leadership/Supervisory/Support:
The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead will be tasked with establishing the Analytics CoE, staffing its team with analysts and data scientists, and overseeing all activities of the advanced analytics capability.
The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead drives performance of analytics solutions to impact overall business results while keeping costs in check and ensuring the department remains within the planned budget. The Head of Analytics is also responsible for setting the Analytics CoE vision and culture and championing for the use of data in making key business decisions.
The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead is in charge of driving the day-to-day analytical approaches and exploring solutions to particular problems. He/she is also tasked with the management and long-term prioritisation of the business''s overall analytical needs and opportunities.
In his/her leadership capacity, the Advanced Analytics Capability Lead takes initiative in developing a training programs meant for improving the departmental heads'' understanding of the use of data, which improves decision-making across the business. In this capacity, the Analytics Capability Lead will also play a mentorship role to key data analytics and data scientist personnel, constantly honing their professional skills, and developing their future career paths.
Analytics:
The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead will play an analytical role where he/she develops and applies analytical algorithms and methods to answer key business questions. The approach is consultative, conducted in partnership with the relevant business areas (initially focused on Customer Insights) to identify, define, and prioritise high value business questions. The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead frames the business questions as analytics questions that need to be answered and defines and develops appropriate analytics models to achieve this, as well as identifying and readying relevant data sources for this analysis. In this capacity, the Advanced Analytics Capability Lead strives to improve the quality of analytics solutions on a consistent basis. He/she leads the analytics competency in the creation of high quality analyses for all functions of the business and in the definition of metrics that track the business''s performance at different fronts. It is also the duty of the Advanced Analytics Capability Lead to validate, interpret, and create reports and presentations for senior management, departmental heads, and relevant stakeholders.
Collaboration:
The role of the Advanced Analytics Capability Lead is a highly collaborative role and, as such, the Advanced Analytics Capability Lead facilitates joint brainstorming and team collaboration. The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead works closely with senior BI management in establishing departmental goals and strategies. He/she additionally works with junior data analytics and data science personnel in defining the data collection needs of the business for the purpose of future work and also for guaranteeing that there is high data-quality and reliability across the business. The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead further collaborates closely with Customer Insights in identifying and prioritising key business questions to drive customer based decision making. The lead will also collaborate with numerous other departments across the business, aiding them in the proper use of data, hence, ensuring the delivery of desired operational results.
Work Planning:
The Advanced Analytics Capability Lead requires detailed knowledge of the delivery life cycle associated with data analytics solutions, including but not limited to the key phases, core milestones, critical success factors, typical challenges and mitigation strategies. Working with the solution delivery functions to establish detailed and achievable delivery plans. Also working with other capability leads to prioritise and balance workload across the team.
Data Engineering:
Assisting business intelligence and data science communities to provision, prepare and model data for advanced analytics purposes. Assisting with advanced data exploration steps, and providing experienced approaches to complex data wrangling.
Streamlining the supply of data from the results of advanced analytics prototypes and experimentation, to
production delivery.

Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, Statistical or Actuarial Science.
- Masters degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- 7+ years'' Analytics experience, at least 3 years in a team lead position.
- Previous experience in Retail / FMCG / eCommerce industries is required.
- Previous experience in Customer Analytics, Consumer Insights or Loyalty programmes is preferred
- Knowledge of SAP and BW/BI systems is advantageous.
