ADVERTISING SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER - MANDARIN AND ENGLISH SPEAKING - CAPE TOWN

POSITION INFO:
Main Purpose of the Role: The primary purpose of this role is to drive retail media revenue and commercial growth by managing and growing a portfolio of Mandarin-speaking sellers across the cross-border market. The role is responsible for identifying sales opportunities, increasing adoption and utilisation of sponsored advertising solutions, and delivering measurable advertising performance that supports both seller growth and revenue targets. This requires a strong consultative sales approach, an understanding of digital advertising and marketplace dynamics, and the ability to use data and insights to develop effective commercial strategies and build long-term seller relationships. Responsibilities: Retail Media Sales & Revenue Growth Seller Onboarding & Platform Enablement Strategic Account Management Campaign Performance Management Media Planning & Consultative Selling Campaign Execution & Coordination Billing & Financial Operations Seller Acquisition Cross-functional Collaboration Seller Education & Content Development Platform Issue Resolution Market & Platform Intelligence Requirements: Mandarin proficiency (spoken and written) - essential for seller communication, platform training, and skills transfer with international sellers. English proficiency (spoken and written) - essential for internal communication with line management and all South African-based stakeholders. Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or a related field. In the absence of a formal qualification, a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated account management experience will be considered. Minimum 3 years' experience in advertising sales and\/or account management , with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets. Solid experience in digital marketing and advertising (search, display, sponsored ads, or programmatic).
