JOB SUMMARY:
Our client based in Wadeville is seeking the expertise of an Agri Science and Solution Specialist who is  technically and commercially savvy specialist to focus on customer engagement. The specialist would be involved in aligning both the business sector strategy and customer strategy to create a symbiotic mutually beneficial relationship for all. The specialist would be required to manage and maintain key customer accounts. By developing customer relationships, the specialist should trouble-shoot customer problems and focus on new business development. The specialist should have a strong knowledge of
related products within the business. We are looking to engage with individuals with strong technical sales background, supported by feed milling and feed nutrition experience. An individual with a sound
education, excellent interpersonal skills and commercial experience is sought after to increase profit contribution and loyalty from business with key customers.

Education and Minimum Requirements
  • University - Postgraduate (Honours Degree) being BSC Honours Agriculture.
  • SACNASP Registered (Recommended)
  • Min 4 years in Agriculture

Responsibilities
  • Sales Opportunities Creation: Develop a business network, represent the organization at customer visits, trade shows and industry events to identify sales opportunities and promote the organization.
  • Obtain market intelligence and enhance the visibility and reputation of the organization, its products, and its services.
  • Customer Relationship Development / Prospecting: Develop and implement a relationship management plan for potential customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers within the customer organization and to enable effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues.
  • Act as first point of contact for customer queries and complaints and resolve these, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the customer receives an appropriate response.
  • Customer Needs Clarification: Set clear objectives for each sales call or meeting; tailor standard materials to make presentations to decision makers and influencers within the customer organization; and ask relevant questions to gather information, to evaluate the customer's level of interest, and to identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation.
  • Sell Customer Propositions: Use personal expertise to identify the complex standard products and/or services offered by the organization that meet the customer's needs, together with quantities and product configurations.
  • Understand associated contractual terms that meet the customer's mid- to long-term needs, taking input from relevant internal specialists.
  • Present the solution to customer representatives and negotiate agreement within a pre-defined range of commercial parameters.
  • Review sales proposals from team members and authorize those that deviate from standard terms, escalating issues to senior management where appropriate.
  • Operational Compliance: Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards.
  • Performance Management: Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Core Tasks:
  • Negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements.
  • Visit establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.
  • Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs.
  • Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.
  • Verify that delivery schedules meet project deadlines.
  • Provide customers with ongoing technical support.
  • Study documentation or other information for new scientific or technical products.
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
  • Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
  • Quote prices, credit terms, or other bid specifications.
  • Select or assist customers in selecting products based on customer needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Complete expense reports, sales reports, or other paperwork.
  • Identify prospective customers using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations, or trade show or conference attendance.
  • Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information. Advise customers on product usage to improve production.
