JOB SUMMARY:
AGRICULTURAL JUNIOR COMMODITIES BUYER -
Join a motivated and busy procurement team in this role that is described as fairly pressurized due to system requirement and demands. 3 – 4 Years’ experience in a commodities trading/buying environment in a manufacturing, logistics and procurement environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Administration and coordination of Raw Material Procurement

Identify all suppliers of specific raw materials and evaluate their prices, payment terms, quality and service levels.
Conduct annual supplier audits and evaluations.

Administration and management of purchasing reports

Gathering of information on raw materials and markets effecting raw materials.
Keep management up to date with market trends and report back on market trends.

Administrating and maintenance of stock for all manufacturing plants

Determine and plan the raw material requirements of each plant according to the sales forecast formulation breakdown and schedule deliveries accordingly.
Communicate stock levels at plants.

Trading

Trade products where required at a profitable level by buying and selling the products with the authorisation of Group Purchasing Manager and Trader. Especially excess products

Raw Material Quality

Ensure that raw materials purchased conform to minimum procurement specifications and to the requirement of the technical and quality department.

Administration of supplier contracts

Ensure that the supplier files are up to date and relevant at all times.
Upload and maintain supplier and transporter contracts on the database.

Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12 Certificate)
BCom; BSc degree (Agri would be advantageous)

Legal requirements:

Possession of a valid Code 08/EB drivers’ license
