Air Flight Consultant - Regional flights

Our client in Cape Town is looking for a Flight booking Consultant, must have experience to manage a booking from start to finish, changing dates on flight booking and do refund on flights cancelled. The ideal candidate should experience issuing the flight tickets too.  Preferably have FIT and Group flight booking experience;

MUST have experience:

• Matric
• Minimum 2 years experience doing flights for Southern Africa 
• Galileo, worked on system recently and excellent knowledge of regional flights
• Must have experience to manage flight booking from start to finish: booking, date changes, refunds
• Experience issuing flight tickets 
• previously worked on a in-house system for invoicing - Travel Studio or similar 

Responsibilities:

• Quote competitive flights for guests, agents and staff travel as required.
• Create and manage all flight bookings on Galileo (Preferred) – FIT & Groups
• Ticketing responsibilities – issue of all flights, refunds, reissues, date changes, name changes, flight confirmations, schedule changes and cancelled bookings
• Strong knowledge and understanding of domestic, International & contracted fares, ticketing, reissues, including refunds in the GDS.
• Knowledge of Group bookings will be an advantage
• Support to consultants on flight bookings, confirmations, rate requirements, airline rules and terms for specific fares
• BSP support and ticketing updates to Johannesburg Accounts on a daily basis, for monthly billing
• Prepare competitive quotations and innovative itineraries for Cruise Agents using negotiated rates from approved suppliers with the aim of securing the most business possible.
• Ensure the margin strategy as set out by Management is adhered to
• Include a minimum of 20% new touring options per proposal and ensure that the proposal is prepared as per agreed processes and communication around the proposal is clear, engaging and sales orientated.
• Collect rates based on all quoted programs including rates, validity, inclusions/exclusions, payment & cancellation terms, before sending onto JNB Database and Accounts Teams
• Send through all quoted information to Finance Consultant and Database Team to facilitate PLI/H&S collection and loading therefore onto Travel Studio.
• Send through all quoted information (programs & excel quotes) to Finance in order to create packages and upload onto Travel Studio.
• Re-quote programs as necessary and forward that information onto Cruise Finance to upload/correct on TS.
• Book all services (including flights where applicable) timeously upon selection of services by the Cruise Agent and update all trackers on the cruise drive
• Pre-book: Guide services and port representatives (as required)
• Manage waitlist and confirmation on Pre/Post/Hotel Stays and Overland programs as received from agents
• Upsell services by means of alternative tour programs, shuttle services, crew tours, managing excursion waitlist as needed
• Collate invoice details, after obtaining final numbers & rooming lists from agent, for Overland’s and Pre/Post Land & Hotel services and send onto Finance in order to prepare invoice & to send to agent. (60-90 days prior to date of travel)
