A prestigious boutique hotel in Sandton is seeking a professional, well-presented, and service-driven ALL-ROUNDER HOST to join their team.
POSITION INFO:
The ideal candidate will embody warmth, genuine guest interaction, and natural conversation skills, creating an atmosphere of personalized hospitality from arrival to departure. This role requires someone who can anticipate guest needs, make authentic connections, and deliver a truly seamless and memorable experience.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Welcome and host guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine conversation.
- Ensure each guest feels personally attended to and valued throughout their stay.
- Manage guest feedback and handle requests or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Oversee all check-ins and check-outs with precision and grace.
- Handle telephone and email communications efficiently and courteously.
- Assist the reservations department with enquiries, confirmations, and site inspections.
- Act as a server for private dining, fine dining, and drink service, ensuring each experience reflects 5-star standards.
- Present menus, take orders, serve meals and beverages with elegance and attention to detail.
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to coordinate timely and polished service.
- Perform administrative duties including filing, report preparation, and ordering supplies.
- Support month-end processes and ensure accurate documentation.
- Maintain organized records and assist with data entry as required.
- Manage petty cash and assist with billing and reconciliations.
- Conduct room and facilities checks to ensure standards are consistently met.
- Support coordination of staff rosters and shift planning.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth daily operations and guestsatisfaction.
- Maintain clear communication between front office, housekeeping, and management teams.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Front of House or Guest Relations role within a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite.
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and a genuine, guest-oriented attitude.
- Must live onsite and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
