SUMMARY:
The Analyst will be expected to take a supporting role in the evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and financing of all transactions, as well as in the monitoring of portfolio companies and implementation of value-add initiatives.

POSITION INFO:

The Analyst will have the following responsibilities:

• The initial screening and valuation of investment opportunities.

• Operating and constructing detailed financial models.

• Conducting financial and business (e.g. industry analysis, competitive position, growth prospects) due diligence.

• Drafting and presentation of detailed investment reports for Investment Committees and Board.

• Conducting bi-annual valuation reports in line with IPEV guidelines.

• Preparation of presentation materials to support the firm’s origination efforts.

• Involvement in special projects relating to the investment portfolio and internal projects.

• Monitoring and value add to existing holdings.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Business Science and Honours in Finance / Economics / Investments / Accounting.

• Outstanding academic record.

• Two to three years’ experience within the financial industry (Mergers & Acquisitions, corporate finance, investment analysis and management, prior experience in investment banking preferred.

• Strong understanding of financial modelling and valuation methodologies.

• Deep research and analytical skills.

• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Must be a self-starter, with an ability to work independently without immediate supervision.

• Must be proactive on projects and demonstrate initiative.

• Must have positive attitude and be able to thrive in small and team-oriented company environment.

• The ability to grow into a lead role in managing and concluding investments and sourcing potential transactions for the business.
