Application Architect -2021_32

SUMMARY:
A client of ours in the mining sector is looking for an Application Architect to co-ordinate and manage the demand process for the Architecture Standards Review Board and to provide architecture guidance to incoming demands.

POSITION INFO:

Tasks:

• Understand the application standards, architecture blueprints and roadmaps and provide initial architecture guidance to initiatives during demand initiation
• Co-ordinate the demand process for the Architecture Standards Review Board (ASRB), including:
  • Understanding the existing application standards and providing guidance on standards alignment when a request comes in
  • Identify touchpoints with other demands and/or other initiatives in the company and ensure input is obtained from all relevant stakeholders
  • Set up all communication sessions with requestors and provide feedback on the approval status of requests
  • Manage all communications with requestors
  • Run the weekly triage process to discuss the demands with the broader Enterprise Architecture & Governance (EA&G) team
  • Create the agenda items for the fortnightly ASRB meeting. Liaise with requestors to present.
  • Compile minutes at ASRB and manage feedback to stakeholders
  • Manage all records associated with the process
  • Provide reports on demands
• Communicate ASRB process to stakeholders
• Provide input on broader EA&G demand process improvement project
• Manage updates to application inventory list
• Work with broader EA&G team to incorporate applications standards list and other application artefacts (e.g. application roadmaps) into a central repository
• Ensure that the applications standards list is easy to understand and navigate by end-users
• Architecture governance processes
• Enterprise Architecture best practices and frameworks
• The specific Enterprise Architecture and Governance field, controls and mitigation.
• Enterprise architecture and how to align to architecture standards/roadmaps
• IM risk management
• Company architecture landscape
• Proficiency in relevant global languages would be advantageous with respect to vendor negotiations and other stakeholders

• Show attention to detail with the ability to process large volumes of information of a complex nature
• Use knowledge management techniques to catalogue and effectively share this information
• Translate complex concepts and information into simple sharable deliverables
• Engage with key stakeholders and understand their requirements
• Make recommendations to stakeholders and influence initiatives to align to best practices and standards
• Analyse and identify risk root causes and quantify potential business impact
• Interpret policy and explain why work needs to be completed in a particular manner
• Explain how a particular process task needs to be fulfilled
• Participate in Enterprise Architecture and Governance initiatives and the different processes involved
• Perform continuous monitoring reviews to make sure that the process aligns to the overall Enterprise Architecture and Governance system
