JOB SUMMARY:
A well-known international clinical diagnostic and life sciences company requires the above to successfully deliver their short- and long-term business objectives and performance targets for the science product portfolio.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • The successful candidate will ideally be a Clinical Medical Technologist with a specialty in Haematology, Coagulation and Chemistry.
  • Previous experience having worked as a Sales Specialist / Applications Specialist or related experience is preferred for the role.
  • Must have hands on experience using a variety of Haematology and Chemistry laboratory equipment and optimization of systems.
  • Must have extensive experience on training internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills including making impactful presentations and business proposals.
  • Strong background in clinical diagnostics and healthcare with good exposure to laboratories.
  • In-depth knowledge of In-Vitro Diagnostics, Lateral Flow Technology, Chemistry, Haematology, Flow Cytometry and PCR Testing.
  • Must have existing relationships with key opinion leaders in the healthcare field preferred.
  • Experience in strategy development, new business development and sales and marketing is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Delivering applications training and support to diagnostic customers based in South Africa, in line with the organization’s vision and stakeholder objectives.
  • Setting, implementing and managing strategies that meet both internal and external customer demands.
  • Co-visiting team on call outs.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and working with Senior Management Team to implement and execute.
  • Managing new projects through close collaboration with management teams.
  • Ensuring that software upgrades are updated and that communication regarding updates is distributed.
  • Continuously evaluating the support process that is provided to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Accompanying Sales Representatives on customer calls to provide technical and applications support as requested.
  • Attending conferences where demo equipment is required to provide technical and application support.
  • Performing functional analysis of all applications systems within the customer’s requirements.
  • Ensuring an excellent transfer of knowledge regarding both technical and applications, with internal and external customers.
  • Providing training and support to all users, assisting departments in capital equipment planning, assisting in identifying and recommending replacement of equipment that is obsolete, has extensive repair history, or has identified safety issues.
  • Serving as a resource to customers and personnel for both technical and application needs.
  • Submitting reports and adhering to general requests from management.
  • Managing monthly/quarterly meetings to stay abreast of key performance indicators.
  • Keeping the sales and product managers abreast of business developments.
